Taking Up S P A C E

I burst into tears on my way to work 3 days ago.

It was just after 6am, and I (coach Hannah) was at the stop light at MacArthur & Harrison.

While waiting for the light to change, my mind started running through the inventory of people who have offered to help us with the new studio. Some of these offers have already been accepted and played through, others are still waiting in the wings.

All of a sudden, as I ran down my mental list of all of the humans who want our business to succeed -- who want us to make the thing that matters the most to us -- I felt overwhelmed with gratitude and tears rolled down my freshly washed, barely awake face.

I was so scared to take this step.

6 months ago, Will and I talked about it over lunch. Part of me knew it was the right thing to do, but I just felt nauseous and unworthy.

A few months later, Will picked me up to go see our first retail listing. He looked over at me, his excitement palpable in the air, and said “How ya feeling, Han?”

“Terrified.” I said flatly. “I wish I could say I felt differently, but that’s where I’m at.”

I can’t tell y’all how grateful I am for Will. He steadfastly kept us putting one foot in front of the other on this new-home search. I could not have done it without him.

And now, here we are!

Lease signed, construction in progress, designs flooding in, equipment on order, and I finally feel excited. Ready. And so pumped to offer OUR version of fitness alchemy to the world.

In that spirit, I wanted to send out a little more info about the new space!

We will be located on the corner of Fruitvale Ave & School Street, in the Dimond neighborhood. It’s right off the Fruitvale exit on the 580, and YES THERE IS PARKING. Free street parking for blocks and blocks. Not to mention a free park & ride city lot a few blocks away.

We removed the old flooring:

And made some new doorways to help folks flow from the entry way into the changing rooms, and back to the bathroom, all without having to set foot on the training floor.

We have had the pleasure of working with some amazing carpenters, who are helping us bring our pipe dream of a wood feature wall that has the function of stall bars to life. Check out this rad design drawing:

It’s going to be even more beautiful than we ever imagined.

We are close to nailing down the class schedule and membership offerings-- more on that soon!

There is still A LOT to do, so if I am slow to respond to emails and texts over the next 2 months, please bear with me! I appreciate all of you so much -- wouldn’t be able to make this thing without you.

Thank you for reading, thank you for being here.

With a full heart,
